10 Horror Movies You Never Thought Were Based on Real-Life Events
The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
As we said before, Ed Gein was one of the inspirations for the character of Buffalo Bill. Yet, another inspiration was Ted Bundy so we guess that’s one complex character right there. Bundy was described as a charismatic man who used his good looks to seduce woman. He killed over 30 people in the 1970s in several different states.
Wolf Creek (2005)
This is a film about three backpackers whose car breaks down during their travels and they accept help from an Australian bushman. Two different people are the inspiration for the story: Ivan Milat, who would pick up hitchhikers and then torture them in the woods and Bradley John Murdoch, who once killed a British tourist.
