This 1958 thriller is based on a real police report from Philadelphia which happened in the 1950s. The police randomly stumbled upon a purple lump in a field. It was described as glowing and left a sticky residue when touched. The blob began to fall apart and within a half hour it had dissolved completely. Strange!
The Exorcist (1973)

The original exorcist movie that came out in 1973 is based on the possession of “Roland Doe” that happened in 1949. Catholic priests were asked to perform an exorcism on the boy in Maryland. The boy was moved to Missouri, where nine Jesuit priests performed a successful exorcism.
