In 2009, Eastern Pacific Black Ghost Shark was trawled from California’s coast. This crazy mysterious shark was classified into a class of animals called “chimaeras”. It is thought to be the oldest fish group that exists today. It uses the fins to “swim” through the water. Impressive animal!
Colossal Squid
Ok, now imagine a squid that grows to the length of approximately 12 up to 14 meters (or 39 to 46 feet). Yup, that’s out guy! This length is almost equivalent to a bus size. A bus! The Colossal Squid was discovered in 1925. However, they only found the tentacles in a sperm whale’s belly. And in 2003, its complete specimen was finally found. After four years, the biggest known specimen measuring around 10 meters was captured in Ross Sea’s Antarctic waters. Today, you can see it in the National Museum of New Zealand. Worth seeing indeed!
